‘Creativity is contagious, pass it on’, Albert Einstein

These Days…

Things are a little different at Treefrog Art HQ at the moment! Covid-19 has temporarily put a stop to after school Art Clubs, holiday workshops, school projects, Saturday Afternoon Art and Drawing Upstairs at the Townhouse. But…. it hasn’t dampened the creativity!

With the help of my very capable assistants, who are in school years 3, 5, 7 and 9, I am posting Art Activities on my Instagram and Facebook page @treefrog123. (You can access these by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page). These are projects that are designed with lock down in mind. We use simple materials, encouraging creativity with lots of recycling and up cycling. There’s outdoor art and indoor art, quick art and ideas that take longer. Everything can be adapted to suit children of all ages, and all accompanying photographs are of art work that really is done by children rather than a masquerading grown up!

Thursday Mornings: Drawing Upstairs at The Townhouse

While The Townhouse is shut, our drawing class for grown ups continues! We are tuning into WhatsApp from our kitchen tables every Thursday morning from 9.30 until 11.30, with a break for home brewed coffee in the middle. I set a new subject every week, with warm up exercises, and offer guidance and tuition facilitated by technology!

Ordinarily…

Treefrog Art designs and delivers imaginative, engaging art workshops. It was founded by Vicki Ostersen in 2018 to promote creativity in all areas of the community. Workshops provide opportunities to explore lots of different materials and techniques, whilst encouraging individual expression.

Drawing, painting, collaging, cutting…  Working with watercolour, buttons, dye, glue… Treefrog Art encourages dexterous fingers and hand-eye coordination. Workshops inspire confidence in all generations, and celebrate individual and collaborative achievements.

Treefrog Art Projects showcase the collective creative energy of schools and community groups. From 24 to 1000 participants, at the heart of any Project is the belief that there is real value in the contribution of every individual.

Treefrog Art courses give opportunities to develop new skills over a period of days or weeks.

Explore, break boundaries, use your imagination, do things differently, challenge yourself, and have fun!

Testimonials from Art Club

‘This is the third time we have been involved in a community art project with Vicki and yet again I am delighted with both the process and the end result. Every single child at our school has had a wonderful time creating their own unique piece of art using a variety of techniques. Vicki has the vision as well as the skills to put these all together to create something truly magical. Creating links with the wider community is very important to us as a school and the art installation in St Peters Church is a perfect way to draw families in to a setting they might otherwise not visit.’ Allyson Crew, Headteacher Petersfield Infant School

‘Children from Froxfield Primary School had a truly great experience building a mosaic with Vicki and Louise. Tremendous care was taken in reflecting the children’s thoughts, ideas and wishes into the final artwork design. Building the mosaic had a profoundly positive affect on every single child, without exception. We are hugely delighted with the final result which perfectly represents our school.’ Mrs V Farrow, Head Teacher, Froxfield CofE Primary School.

‘Thank you so much for providing the opportunity to display my son’s artwork. The look on his face was perfect! The pieces are so varied and imaginative- amazing!’ Parent at Exhibition

‘An absolutely amazing show. Well done everyone involved. Such beautiful work from the children. My kids love doing Vicki’s classes- thank you so much.’ Parent at Exhibition

‘What a beautiful, vibrant, colourful display. Really welcoming and spring-like.’ Tearoom customer – Art at Winton House

‘The artwork is fabulous! The children have all worked so hard and are super proud of what they have produced. Lovely café too- will definitely come again.’ Year 1 parent – Art at Winton House

‘Thank you Vicki for such beautiful work and for all the time, energy and commitment you put into working with the 350 fantastic children from Petersfield Infant School. Looking forward to our next project together!’ Rachel Harford Centre Manager –  Art at Winton House

‘Had to let you know that each time I have visited the garden this week I have bumped into little people bringing followers to look at their stones. They have brought so much pleasure to so many people. You really did do a fantastic job. 😊 Thank you.’ Rosemary Clark – Art in the Physic Garden

Both of my children spent time at Petersfield Infant school creating projects with Vicki, from the visually stunning stones project that was displayed in the Physic garden (my son sleeps with his stone each night to this day!), to the excellent exhibition ‘A Brilliant Day’. The exhibit showcased our business and brought new customers into the fold of the Townhouse family – thank you Vicki !  Dom Humphries Owner
